About
Dr. M Azmain Iktidar
MBBS, MPH (Epidemiology) · Clinician-researcher, Dhaka, Bangladesh
Background
A doctor who builds research teams
I trained in medicine at Chittagong Medical College and in epidemiology at North South University, and I’m now completing my MD in radiation oncology at the National Institute of Cancer Research & Hospital in Dhaka.
Alongside clinical work, I’ve spent the last several years running large, multi-site studies with student and early-career teams across Bangladesh: on tobacco and substance use, chronic disease, occupational health, post-COVID complications and diagnostic tools. That work has led to more than 30 peer-reviewed papers.
I co-founded School of Research to make that experience teachable, training doctors and health students in research methodology and data analysis. I served as an academic editor for PLOS ONE from 2022 to 2026 and was a visiting scholar at Sam Houston State University in 2025.
